Standard Operating Procedure- Diesel Generator
Starting procedure for Diesel Generators in "AUTO" mode
Keep both the Emergency Stop switches in AMF panel and Generator panel released condition
In AMF panel keep the Selector switch in "Auto" mode of all DG set
In Generator panel keep the key switch in "AUTO" mode
Ensure the Lube oil level with in the allowable limit.
Check day tank diesel level (above 80%)
Keep the radiator water upto the Brim
Check the battery condition
If Transformer-1&2,only TFR # 1,or TFR # 2 incomer breaker goes "Off" or if power fails D.G will start automatically
Ensure DG Outgoing # 1 and 2 ACB for Close,if open close manually
Check D.G Output Voltage, load current,Frequency,Water Temp.,Lube oil Pressure,Battery Voltage and Day tank diesel level every 15 minutes once and record in once in a hour
Stopping procedure for Diesel Generators "AUTO" mode.
Ensure the EB supply voltage is with in the limit (400V to 440V)
Check and ensure that protective relays (Over current,Earth fault,Earth Leakage Over/Under Voltage etc) are in normal mode, reset if required
Ensure that Trip circuit healthy lamp indication is glowing
changer over will happen from Emergency supply to Normal supply
Now D.G load transferred to EB. D.G breaker goes off automatically
Starting procedure for Diesel Generators in "Manual" mode
Keep both the Emergency Stop switches in AMF panel and Generator panel released condition
Ensure the Lube oil level with in the allowable limit.
Check day tank diesel level (above 80%)
Keep the radiator water upto the Brim
Check the battery condition
Switch On the DG #1 and DG#2 manually.
Ensure all parameters of DG in limit and close the DG breakers and MV panel output breakers in DG AMF panel
Check D.G Output Voltage, load current,Frequency,Water Temp.,Lube oil Pressure,Battery Voltage and Day tank diesel level every 15 minutes once and record in once in a hour
Stopping procedure for Diesel Generators in "Manual" mode
Take the necessary readings
Ensure the EB Supply voltage is with in the limit
Check and ensure that protective relays (Over current,Earth fault,Earth Leakage Over/Under Voltage etc) are in normal mode, reset if required
Ensure that Trip circuit healthy lamp indication is glowing
Ensure the changover happen automaticaly in ATS panel
After 3 minutes switch OFF the DG by pressing stop button
Check the diesel level in the day tank, add diesel if needed
